The name 'gangsa' refers to the keyed instrument that plays the resonant melodies in a traditional Balinese orchestra. This choice of name is a conscious effort to preserve the island’s vibrant culture through tourism.

The Gangsa is located down a hidden back lane in the revered priestly village of Sanur, which is only 2km from a coral protected white sandy beach. Convenient access to Bali's main Bypass means only a short drive to the airport or Kuta for shopping, while the artist village of Ubud is only a 30 min trip into the cultural pulse of the island.
